Can You Spare Some CHANGE?

Apparently, my kids didn't get the memo that we woke up in a 'New America' this morning...they still refused to brush their teeth and were pains in the ass getting them out the door to the sitter. Really though, as 'fired up' as I am about how thing played out last night...about how, contrary to the one Sarah Palin lives in, the real 'Real America' demanded a different, more unified country...O and Lo have it right. Last night hasn't really changed anything...yet.

Like our new President-elect said, real change has not occurred w/ his election...what, at least for me, has changed is a heightened sense of possibility...a sparked enthusiasm to get to work, move our country forward and pave the long road in the never ending journey to try and make things better. It's palpable or, at least, way more palpable to me than it has been in the last eight years.

That said, i'm already gearing up to be even more critical towards our democratic president-elect, his cabinet and congress than I would have a McCain administration. There is something to prove, not just to those who didn't believe...but, maybe even more so, to those of us who did and still do. I sincerely believe in change, but right now...until we ALL actually start taking the onus to be the agents of it...it's only a possibility.

Fortunately for us, I also believe that it is how some say...possibilities are endless. Things need to change not just because we want them to, but because they have to. We ALL need to not just want it, but go out and get it. Before he has even taken office, that is what I think this man, our next President, has already brought to this country...not change itself, but the empowerment to make the change ourselves.

So, how about you? Can you spare some?
